Israel-Iran war: Missiles pierce the sky, cities tremble

Israel and Iran exchanged attacks on Saturday, with Israel conducting an “extensive series of strikes” on Iranian targets, including the defense ministry headquarters and nuclear facilities, and Iran launching a missile barrage that killed at least eight people in Israel.

The Israeli military said its strikes were aimed at crippling Iran’s nuclear program and military capabilities. The targets included the Natanz nuclear enrichment facility, where satellite imagery showed extensive damage, and a nuclear research facility in Isfahan.

Iran’s Revolutionary Guards said its missiles targeted Israeli energy infrastructure and facilities for fighter jet fuel production. The attack caused widespread damage and resulted in casualties, with reports indicating that a residential building in the Galilee region was hit, killing several people.

Casualty Report:

  • Israel: At least 8 people killed, over 200 injured
  • Iran: 78 people killed, over 320 wounded

US President Donald Trump said the US had no involvement in the Israeli strikes and believes a deal can be “easily” reached between Iran and Israel. Planned negotiations between Iran and the US on Tehran’s nuclear program have been canceled due to the escalating situation.

The conflict has raised fears of a broader regional war, with world leaders urging de-escalation. Russia’s President Vladimir Putin has offered to help de-escalate the conflict, while Britain is moving additional military assets to the Middle East to provide regional support.
