May 20: National Unity Day Marked with Vibrant Celebrations in the Land of Intelligence, Njinikom

The town of Njinikom in Boyo Division, North West Region, came alive on May 20 as residents marked National Unity Day with colorful festivities celebrating patriotism, inclusion, and community spirit.
The celebration featured a lively march-past involving a range of groups and organizations, with the Cameroon Peopleโ€™s Democratic Movement (CPDM) prominently represented. Local authorities and community leaders joined the parade, including Mayor Samuel Loh Yong, Section President and Mayor of Njinikom.


A key highlight of the event was its strong focus on social inclusion. Persons living with disabilities received special attention, with support items such as white foldable canes and walking sticks distributed in a gesture of solidarity and care for vulnerable members of society.
The event recorded a massive turnout, as residents filled the venue to take part in the celebrations. Food and refreshments were shared, adding to the festive and communal atmosphere that characterized the day.


The Divisional Officer of Njinikom, Denis Akonjoh, praised the smooth organization of the event, describing it as well-coordinated and successful.
